Firstly,the working p rincip le and measurement p recision of the Airda - 3000Q type atmospheric wind p rofiler (AWP) were introduced. Then, a contradistinctive analysis on the wind p rofile data acquired by both AWP and synchronous balloon sounding was conducted to estimate the reliability ofAWP for detectingwind field. The results show that under the stable weather condition, the p rofiler’s detection ofwind direction and wind speed had some deviation compared by the balloon’s detection from the ground to 200 m height due to the detecting blind spots of the AWP and the ground clutter, but above 200 m, both wind field p rofiles correlated well;Under the comp lex weather condition, theirwind p rofiles had obvious deviation because the wind information on the different height acquired by AWP is a temporal average of wind field in a time period, but the wind data measured by sounding balloon on a specific height is the instantaneous value while balloon passed by.

Based on the radar dense data of convectional cloud on June 12,2004 in Yongdcng county, choosing two similar convectional clouds as seeding and non一seeding cloud,the remarkable changes of radar echo parameters of the seeding cloud compared with the non一seeding cloud were discussed in this paper, and the rain enhancement effect was evaluated primarily with ground observational rainfall data.  "hhc results show that many aspects of the seeding cloud,such as precipitation,life characteristic and vertical characteristic parameters change of radar echo, had remarkable differences compared with the non一seeding cloud,and about }0 min after seeding() .6 mm precipitation produced,while the non一seeding cloud experienced a short period from development to dissipation and didri t produce any precipitation in the ground,which can conclude this rainfall cnhanccment experiment reached some prospective effect.

According to the synoptic background and the evolution characteristics of radar echoes of a strong single hail event occurred in Yongdeng county of Uansu Province on July 8,2003,the jumping change of echo height,intensity and liquid water content,and the special structure features of the strong single hail were analyzed in this paper. 'hhc results show that the range and extension height of strong reflectivity area on vertical section arc important to hailstorm development.  While the strong reflectivity area is corresponding to bunbant  watea area In cloud,and only water content accumulating area being in the cooled 4km,region in the cloud can t0  abundant he benefit to hail development.  <)nec the echo intensity reached 55 dBz and its height was above hail falls immediately. 'hhe strong single hail with special structure developed very strongly.  Above conclusions
arc nificant to hail monitoring and prcwarning.
